Howdy. :)

So a few days ago at around 18 weeks 4 days Eddie was finally able to feel one little kick with his hand. :)
They have been pretty active for the most part, but still not all the time yet. One is more active than the other. But I thnk that I remember hearing in our last ultrasound that one has an anterior placenta and one posterior, so that is probably why I feel one more. Today I am 19 weeks 2 days. We have a doc appt. this Thursday.

On Friday, Eddie sprained his ankle or foot or something playing basketball. Also, my mom was stuck at my house sick with a stomach virus or something until Sunday, and Alexis starting coughing. It made for a rough weekend of me being way too active. I am still kinda tired from it. But luckily, I am not sick.

18 weeks

I hit 18 weeks yesterday. It seems like the last month has really flown by. I have been feeling the babies move a little more each day. The one on the right moves a lot more than the other, and when we listen with the doppler, that one has a much faster heartbeat. That will be our little hyper kid. :)
I have been feeling pretty good. I found some energy somewhere this weekend and was able to get some stuff done around the house which really made me feel good. But there is still so much to do! But, i think we can do it. Just have to take it a little at a time.

More later.

Daddy update

ok, since mommy has given the details of all that has happened since I last made an entry I will just add to her stay at the hospital story. the 2nd funniest thing that happened at the hospital and ultrasound was the orderly that took her down asked permission to stay in and see our ultrasound since of course we told her our story on the way to the ultrasound room. the orderly had tears in her eyes when she saw our 2 little ones in there moving around. she said she never got one done for herself when she was pregnant.

Also, while Kris was in the hospital Kayla was just as sweet as she could be asking about how mommy was doing and missing her. Alexis did too. Kris was really dissappointed about having to stay at the hospital and really missed the girls so I recorded them saying their prayers and praying for her to feel better and for her doctors, apparently all of them since Kayla said over and over again ‘and another one doctor…and another one doctor’. When Kris was initially admitted to the hospital I asked my best friend if he and his fiance would watch the girls for us. even though they were going to go out they told me to bring them over anyway. When I came back to pick them up Kayla threw up all over me, his couch and floor and oh yeah, the Jordan gym shoes he gave me a couple of years ago! she was ok the rest of the night though but, threw up again the next day, after that she was ok. somehow I was the only one that did not get the stomach virus…well, the new babies probably didn’t either…must be strong boys!!!!

well, that is it for now.

17 weeks

It’s been a while since I wrote. Things have been going ok. My tummy is definitely getting bigger which is good. :) I had a doc appt. last Thursday at 16 weeks 4 days and my stomach already measured 23 weeks.

I have my level II ultrasound scheduled for Feb 9 at which point we can confirm the sexes. I can’t wait!

My doc appt. went ok. Nothing special happened.

If I think of something interesting to write, I will later. :)

Holiday Update

I’ve been on vacation from work for the past week for Christmas and New Year’s. It was almost good, but not really.

Let’s see… we had a good Christmas Eve and went to 2 different parties. We got home and got the girls to bed around 11. We set up all their stuff that night and they had a ball openining everything and playing on Christmas morning. They loved all thier presents. We went to church that morning, then went to my cousin’s house for a few hours and they played there. They got more presents and played, etc. and missed nap time. Alexis fell alseep while we were there and slept through us putting on her coat, and putting her in the car, etc. Kayla fell alseep in the car.

As soon as we got home, I took Alexis out of the car and she woke up a bit, so I put her down to walk up the driveway. As soon as we stepped onto the porch she threw up all over the porch and me!

We got her inside and cleaned her up and I laid her down for a while in my bed. At that point we thought she ate too much food at too many different households or something. She threw up 3 more times that night, once in our bed, on the couch, and on the carpet in the living room.

The next morning she was fine. We stayed home all day though, just in case. The next day we had some running around to do and went out to breakfast. Kayla complained of a tummy ache and would not eat. That evening, she had very very loose watery bowels. She was fine after that and ate her dinner.

That night at 3:00 am, I woke up with what started as bad gas pains. I tried to let out a few good burps and it just would not move. So, finally I threw up. I thought that would be the end of it. I still could not sleep comfortably and felt like another burp was still stuck, but I slept a few more minutes. I threw up again at around 4:30, 6:00, and 8:00. AND I had diarrhea all these times as well.

It just so happens that I had a 9:30 OB appt. that morning anyway, so I knew they would check me out. By the time it was time to leave for my appt. I was exhausted and had no steam and Eddie had to put most of my clothes on for me. After an exam and pee test the OB sent me right over to the L&D for iV fluids, which I knew would happen.

They had no rooms on the maternity floor so I was put on the 3rd floor which seemed to be for the sickest folks with the heart problems, kidney problems and other infectious diseases. It was interesting. The woman in the room next door kept screaming for her nurse “Raaaaaccchhheeeelllll!!! Helpppp” And she did that for everyone she could.

But, they took pretty good care of me. I did throw up one more time while there so they gave me Zofran a few times, and Immodium for diarrhea. I starting feeling much better after that and ate tons of jello and broth. I also had low potassium so they gave me a dip for that. It was burning the heck out of my arm so I complained and they got rid of it and gave me pill form instead. They also mentioned that I had low bilirubin, but it must have been due to the dehydration, because they did not mention it anymore. I spent 2 nights there and got home around noon on New Years Eve. It was some bad stomach virus going around, and I got the worst of it.

And if you read all of this, bless you. :) And as a reward, read on…

They gave us an ultrasound on Friday and the babies look amazing! They were moving all around, etc. and were soooo cute! It was a great machine since it was in the hospital. Much, much better than the old one in my OBs office. AND…

The tech said to not go out and buy anything yet, but she was just about certain that she saw 2 little BOYS!!!! I think that is so cool! We are happy as can be. It was still early during the ultrasound (about 15 weeks), but I saw one little pee pee as clear as day! And the tech said that she saw the other one. We will confirm at our level II ultrasound which should be near the end of the month I think. :)
